  • Is this an Ottawa Food Bank location?

    theVillage Storehouse is an independent food pantry. Funded and operated by the generosity of the Greely residents and the surrounding communities, we do not receive financial or physical donations from the Ottawa Food Bank.

  • Are tax receipts available for donations?

    theVillage Storehouse is operated in partnership with Parkway Church and any financial donation above $20 is eligible for a charitable donation tax receipt. All tax receipts will be issued through Parkway Church.

  • What types of items are needed?

    Items that are in current demand can be found HERE.

    There is a continual need for non-perishable goods, personal hygiene items, and baby care (diapers, wipes, formula, etc.).

  • How can I access food from theVillage Storehouse?

    During operating hours theVillage Storehouse will be open as a self service food pantry. The doors will be open for you to select the items you need, and a basket will have grocery bags should you want them.

    The staff of Parkway Church are available in their office wing should you need assistance or have other questions/needs.

  • How are financial donations used?

    Because theVillage Storehouse is run by community volunteers, all financial donations go into keeping our shelves stocked.

    Our partnership with Parkway Church allows any administration costs to be absorbed by the church organization.

  • How often can I receive food from theVillage Storehouse?

    Whenever theVillage Storehouse is open, it is available to anyone in need. We ask that you take only what you require each visit, and that the frequency of your visits leaves opportunity for others.

  • What is your partnership with Parkway Church?

    theVillage Storehouse is an extension of Parkway Church.

    To address growing concerns and needs surrounding food insecurity within the community, Parkway Church created theVillage Storehouse. The charitable status and governing board of theVillage Storehouse is shared with Parkway Church.

  • How do I donate?

    Food donations can be dropped off at theVillage Storehouse during operating hours. A collection basket can be found by the front door.

    Please do not put donations inside the pantry, as all donations need to be screened and sorted.

    Financial donations can be done through the donate button, or dropped off in person at Parkway Church.

  • Are there any items you cannot accept?

    At this time we are unable to properly store fresh produce, dairy, meats, fish or any other refrigerated item that is not shelf stable.

    We are unable to use non-perishable items with expired best before dates or missing manufacturers labelling.

    Items where the packaging has been opened, tampered with, or anything that is home made, will unfortunately be disposed of.

  • Do you accommodate specific dietary needs?

    theVillage Storehouse operates on a donation basis, as such the variety of items available fluctuates throughout the year. We unfortunately are unable to commit to stocking specific items required for dietary needs.

    We do on occasion receive donations of items that are: Halal, Vegan, Gluten-free, allergen free, etc.

  • Can I get to theVillage Storehouse by city transportation?

    Unfortunately OC TRANSPO does not service Greely, there are no bus routes currently running in our area.

  • Is a home delivery available?

    At this time home delivery is not an option,
    but may be at a later time.
